Amtrak Passenger Station A three story steel framed building with a facade of full height, precast concrete arches which lined the entire front. A 96-foot high, white painted steel bell tower sat astride the facade and was visible on a sight line down 5th Street. Often called an embarrassment, the station was renovated in 2007 by Eppstein Uihlein architects and renamed the Intermodal Station. The new design replaced the old facade with one more modern and inviting. The main lobby is a bright open space with the glass facade letting in huge amounts of light.
